Nancy Drew!

About a week ago I started reading the Nancy Drew Mystery Series by Carolyn Keene.  I like them very much.  Though they truly are what my mom calls CANDY - Meaning this is not the book to go to if you want a book that had lots depth. Nancy Drew is basically just a fun read!  I also beat my record for -books per day- I read TWO in one day!! Minus about 10-15 pages that I had read the day before.  Well... Back to Nancy Drew, The mysteries very well written and are extremely fun to read! They always leave you in suspense! The actual thief may surprise you!

I would definitely recommend it to any one who wants a fun and interesting read!  (BTW I haven't seen the movie so what I am saying about the book may or may not go for the movie)

Ten Tips For Theater Performers!

Hello everyone!  Today I am going to give you some tips on theater. This post will be focused on giving info to those of you who are considering trying out for your first play! But those who have been doing it for a while may take interest in it too!

1.It is fine if you are nervous. I have learned from professionals that it is good to be at least a little nervous because if you aren't you may become over confident!

2.When you are auditioning on stage SPEAK UP!  Do not mumble or do anything of the sort!

3.Really turn yourself into the character that you are portraying.

4.You may be confused because you could have heard some people say to absolutely become the character you are acting. But then you may hear some say to add some of yourself into it...  The answer is to do both.

5.If you can, become familiar with the script before you audition.  Try and memorize any of the parts of the character that you want, which you think they may use.

6.Before hand find out if they are going to have you learn a dance.  If they do make sure that you either wear something comfortable or bring some that you can dance in. (Special tip~ I ware a skirt and t-shirt. Then I can look nice and be able to dance!)

7.Don't think that you are supposed wear dance shoes to an audition.  If you already have a pair go ahead and wear them.  If you don't have any just wear flat shoes.  If you get a part in the show they will tell you what kind of dance shoe to get.

8.The same goes for leotards as what I said in tip 7.

9.This tip is more a heads up. If the show that you auditioned for is a musical if you do get a part the first few rehearsals will just be teaching you the songs.

10.Even though it is just a rehearsal still act as though you are on stage doing a performance.  Don't just mumble your lines during rehearsal say them loudly as though you were on stage.

Hope this helps!
