Nothing to Post About!

Hey Everyone! So I have not posted in about four days, and I wanted to write something. I am pretty sure that at some point every blogger comes to a time when their mind draws a blank on what to post about. So I was wondering if any one has a special way to find something to post about. I need some tips! You see I have already got a post out of saying that I didn't have anything to post about but I won't always be so lucky! Hahaha! So if you have any tips I'd be obliged! :-)

Books! (2)

So I finished book number one of the HG's (Hunger Games) so now all that is left is to read-

The last two books in HG's
The Humming Room,
The Drowned Vault (As soon as I get it off of Amazon...still...)
On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness

I wanted to add a book that I just got to this list- Dead End in Norvelt.
My mom saw it in the store and suggested I get 'cause she had read good things about it online. So I read what it was about and liked what I was hearing. (his style sounded similar to N.D. Wilson's) So DEN OEDSD and the last two HG's books will be my next couple of good reads!!

Also in my last post it probably wasn't fair to LOTR -Lord of the Rings- when I said that I might like HG's more, since I know that I don't, and the books have completely different styles which make them hard to compare! (Tolkien just is that way) :-):-)

Hunger Games

Two days ago I finished reading one of the human race's most remarkable creations.

The Hunger Games.

Sooo to the people around me I probably seem to have turned into a maniac. And it is all because of The Hunger Games. I have only read the first book, but by the 10th page I knew I liked it, by the 28th I was sold! I am soooooo going to die of agony until I see the movie! Some of my friends saw it opening night and they said that it followed the book very closely and was very well done. I think that I might like it even better then the Lord of the Rings. And to people who know me that is saying A LOT!!! I mean I have raved about Lord of the Rings for the past 6 years!!!!!!!!!!!! (I still can't wait for the Hobbit!) I can't say enough about how much I love the HG's but I would bore you while I went on and on about Gale and Katniss and Cinna....... You get my point? :) soo I would give the first book a 10/10 I can't wait to read the other two!!!

Hugo

A few days ago... I saw Hugo.

Whenever I see a really good movie I start talking in a British accent. This was one of those movies.

It was... INCREDIBLE. AMAZING. AWESOME. HEARTWARMING. (And did I say... INCREDIBLE!!!!) I love Hugo!

It was so full of emotion and epicness and awesomness! I was literally on the edge of my seat for most of the movie! I was constantly gasping under my breath (we saw it in a movie theater in 3D!)- "Hugo look out!" "Oh no!" Watch out Hugo!" :)
The actors did an incredible job, and the plot was sooo interesting and quick moving that it always kept you on your toes!

Soo you know how your friends are always nagging at you saying-"You have to watch Hugo!" "You haven't seen Hugo yet?!?!?!" "Hugo is AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!" You get my point. Well now I understand why they are saying that! So I must join in! "If you haven't seen Hugo yet... GO SEE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!":):):):):) I would rate it 10/10!!!!!!

Now for TinTin. So last night we rented TinTin on DVD. I admit I was disappointed. I had had such high hopes for this movie and especially after Hugo it just wasn't that great.
If I had watched it thinking to myself "this is going to be an awful movie" then I would have been pleasantly surprised but as I said before my expectations were very high. I always felt a step ahead of TinTin, and many of the stunts they pulled of where not realistic, they all should've been dead by the end of the movie.

But enough of the bad stuff! Overall I liked the movie a lot! It was very lighthearted and funny! I would rate it 6/10.

Call of the Wild and White Fang

In my literature class we just read Call of the Wild and will be finishing White Fang very soon. It has been an interesting experience. The author of the two books is Jack London. He is a Naturalist and his views are strongly woven into his story-'Visions of cave men and men being considered gods.' It has been interesting thinking about the views showed in the stories and how they are different then what I believe-Christianity.
Now the actual stories have been very fun to read! There was just one problem that I had with these books... They didn't hold my interest. The first part just barely keeps you reading (I have to keep reading its my school! (-: )  then it would become interesting and stay so till the end. One other thing that I liked was that he (London) incorporated lots of facts on things like the Klondike Gold Rush and having a dog sled. Overall it is a fun book to read but I wouldn't buy it until you had got it from the library and made sure that you wanted to spend your hard earned dough on it! I would give it a 5-6/10

Savvy By:Ingrid Law. A Review!

Here is the summary that I got off of Amazon for Savvy~
Thirteen is when a Beaumont’s savvy hits—and with one brother who causes hurricanes and another who creates electricity, Mibs Beaumont is eager to see what she gets. But just before the big day, Poppa is in a terrible accident. And now all Mibs wants is a savvy that will save him. In fact, Mibs is so sure she’ll get a powerful savvy that she sneaks a ride to the hospital on a rickety bus with her sibling and the preacher’s kids in tow. After this extraordinary adventure—full of talking tattoos and a kidnapping—not a soul on board will ever be the same.

So I'm not sure if that alone gets you jumping up and down in your hurry to read this book or not, but let me give you an incentive! It is really cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The level of reading is elementary but opposite to the popular belief that elementary books are boring (for our age group. Pre-teen/teen) the story was really great! I was looking at the print and thinking "Ok... this is going to be a REALLY easy read..." And it was, but that did not take the enjoyment out of reading the story at all!! I loved it! You saw characters change, mature and figure out who they were. Its about a time in a kids life that can be confusing! This was a fun way of seeing how other kids (with special powers) deal with turning 13! Find out how Mibs does it!  I would absolutely recommend this book! 7/10

My mom got it for me from the library so it wasn't even my pick!
Boy am I glad that she found this book!

Until Next Time! F.A.D.

Books!

I am pretty sure that this is the first time that I have ever done this, though I have seen many other bloggers do it! I am going to put up a list of books that I am planning on reading very soon. Also if I am able to get my hands on them and read them I will do a review within 1 week of completing the book!

So here is the list!~
The Hunger Games,
The Humming Room,
The Drowned Vault (As soon as I get it off of Amazon...)
On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness

Its kind of funny because while I was thinking up this list I realized that because of all the school reading that I have been doing I haven't had much time for books that I just read for fun! Though I don't want to give you the impression that all my school reading is boring. In my literature class we will be reading  Fahrenheit 451, and The Fellowship of the Ring very soon. Both of which I have read before but am thrilled to read again! Speaking of the Lord of the Rings I am soooooooooo THRILLED about The Hobbit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant.... I repeat... CAN'T WAIT for the Hobbit to come out!!!!

Well I guess that I have to..... :-(

Coming up next a review on the book Savvy By:Ingrid Law!

The War Horn-A Review-

The War Horn by:J Tobias Buller will be available on Amazon as an eBook very soon! I have already had the privilege of reading this book from the editing standpoint being one of the five lucky winners chosen to pre-read the book before it was put on-line for purchase.

I found this book very interesting to read and it grasped me with a longing to hurry up and find out what would happen next! It was full of twists and turns in the plot so that right when you thought that one thing would happen something else did! I felt a connection with all of the characters and their emotions were communicated so well! You definitely felt a connection with all the characters!
I would rate this 8/10. It really is a must read!

The Weather

Quite incredibly about one week after we got 8 inches of snow we have had several days where the weather gets as warm as 70 degrees! As it is right now while I am sitting on the deck in the late afternoon sun listening to Michael Bublé radio on Pandora and my little siblings host a picnic for their toy animals!

It's gorgeous and breezy out. I don't have my shoes on.
These are the days I am especially thankful to God for!
